Colour Rendering and Fidelity of the Reproductions.
The images on this site reproduce original works by Angelo Marchetti made on various supports: canvas, card, paper, using techniques that include oil, watercolour, inks, oil crayon, charcoal and mixed media. The photographic documentation was carried out with different instruments depending on the case: digital photography under controlled lighting, and acquisition by high-resolution flatbed scanner. Each method introduces its own variables, which may affect colour rendering and the perception of the support's texture.
The reproduced colours may therefore differ from the original for the following reasons:
- the calibration of the monitor or device used for viewing, which varies according to model, age of the screen and the user's personal settings;
- the ambient light conditions at the moment of photography, which can alter the colour temperature and the saturation of the tones;
- the compression of the image files applied for web publication, which reduces the colour information compared with the original high-resolution file;
- the colour profile used during acquisition or export, which may not match the colour space managed by the user's browser or operating system.
For a limited number of works, the images reproduced on this site have been kindly provided by private collectors. In these cases, as it was not possible to carry out a new acquisition directly from the original, the colour fidelity of the reproduction cannot be attested, in addition to all the variables already described. This is nonetheless valuable documentary material, which makes it possible to give visibility to works otherwise inaccessible to the public, but which must be regarded with due caution as to the rendering of colour, brightness and detail.

Rights and Conditions of Use of the Images
The images of the works and the texts published on this site are protected by copyright. The relevant rights belong to the heirs of Angelo Marchetti. All rights are reserved.
Save as provided in the following paragraph, the reproduction, dissemination, publication, copying and any other use of the images and texts for both commercial and non-commercial purposes, including study, research, documentation and cultural dissemination, are not permitted without the written authorisation of the Archive. The absence of explicit authorisation is to be taken as refusal.
Expressly Authorised Images
The Archive may grant, for individual images and at its own discretion, an authorisation for use, indicated explicitly beside the image itself or communicated in writing. Only such images may be used, solely within the limits, purposes and duration specified in each case, and always on condition that the author is credited clearly and legibly, with the wording: Angelo Marchetti (Milan, Italy, 1930 - 2000) - by kind permission of the Angelo Marchetti Artists' Association. The credit must not be altered, misleadingly abbreviated or separated from the image.
Under no circumstances may the images be modified, manipulated or used in contexts that alter their meaning or that are detrimental to the work or to the figure of the artist.

The request should indicate the image or images of interest (with the catalogue number, if available), the intended use, the context of publication and the envisaged scope of distribution.
